M83 - The Middle Part

So basically we're in the blog/music blog game and we thought it our duty to hang out and satisfy our insatiable desire to meet and greet with either Nick Routledge or on a rare chance, M83 - either morgan Kibby or Anthony Gonzalez.

After the show finished to an applaud we spotted
Nick making his way from backstage once again and were determined to at least grab a quick "hi - big fan of your work, etc"
We closed in on him only to shadow his conversation with friends that he'll be another 15 minutes backstage before leaving our grasp again. After dawdling around the remnants of cups n trash while appearing to be part of Nicks entourage, we were eventually hassled by security and decided to move the 'stake out' outdoors - it was only gonna be 15 minute right?

The next hour was quite the journey. Amidst the rain, the security, the allusion to be friends with people we really weren't (Nick's entourage) and finding the 'true' backstage entrance all seems alittle unfathomable in hindsight but it was surely a ride for us. We decoded the night, its highs, while hanging outside, observing potential groupies and their aim to latch onto what ever cerebral fling they could manage. Unfortunately this was not Frenzal Rhomb (who were playing The Metro the following night). After watching three failed attempts by 3 different groups of wet lipstick gals, it became a sign that perhaps this fortress, this building was impregnable.

The rain started, we helped a young teen relocate and eventually reunite with her mobile phone as we became acknowledged faces to the muso crews that began pulling up trucks to excavate the musical prod of the band. However through all of this, alas, no face of recognition came through the backstage and after Nicks entourage were allowed backstage, we called it a night.
