Hey Ya! don't forget this!

Bekay why didn't you include this in your post!?!?!?

This is the episode featuring Bekay's cousin at the very end, though unfortunately he isn't in this clip. But what about Ted's fucking incredible cover of Outkast's Hey Ya huh! Even if you have only watched Scrubs once, you will be familiar with the end of show formula; JD narrates a life lesson over a montiage of scenes involving various characters, while an emotional sorta song plays....and then I get choked up and try to stop myself from crying. This song is the quintessential "end-of-Scrubs-song". The guy that plays Ted actually sings it too!!!! He has his own Accapella band (which is featured in another episode). In fact, this is probably my favourite Scrubs ending ever, thanks to the song. The fact that Bekay's cuz features in it, makes it even better.

I haven't seen the last season of Scrubs yet. I'm still waiting for Dr. Cox to say something nice and brotherly/fatherly to JD. In the last episode I saw, in Season 7, he almost told him that he was going to miss him, but didn't. When he does, I will defintely cry.

Floundering around on my desktop for agesss now is a picture my Cousin sent me.

His name is Eric, he's in his early 20's, lives in the states (like all of my fam) and since moving to LA from the midwest has been a production assistant for a slew of television pilots. But by far his television apogee, was his guest appearance on the TV show he worked on for the last two season of, Scrubs. His cameo spot aired a few weeks ago locally, in an ep that Ollie fancies. Unfortunately since, I misplaced the image so the timely gesture of showing you all has faded somewhat.

(He's on the Right.)

Just glancing at the photo one last time reminds me of past memories of my cousin and his personality and energy. He's a very cool dude. So I  thought this  song could convey such.

I know Karate, I Know Jujitsu, I Drive Like a Gangsta when I'm coming to see you!

It's the chorus of a life to be envied..

It Was Gorgeous, and Gorgeousity Made Flesh.

Summer! Where did you go baby? Autumn is being a cunt. She makes me wear jackets now, and they make me itchy. I miss not wearing a shirt when I went to bed with you. What happened to your warm breath on my neck from the open window at night?

Last week when I was at Bondi, all I could think about was you. I was watching the skaters at the skatepark and listening to Deerhunter. It was sublime. But then I realised I wasn't going to see you for another 6 months, and I almost cried. All I wanted, was to have my boardies on, shirt off, radio on, and beer in hand, as your sunshine hands massaged me all over. Yes, I almost cried, but then I realised you were still with me that day.

You were all around me. You were screaming my name in the clear skies, the bikini'd girls running with their dogs, hell, even the filming of Bondi Rescue down on the beach in front of me. But I knew that was your goodbye. You were off to the other side of the world for a few months.

To remind me of you, I'm not going to wear a shirt to bed anymore. What Autumn doesn't know won't hurt her.

I carry your heart Summer, I carry it in my heart.

Hopefully you've have all acclimatized to Toxic Versailles 2.0. We thought a dash of blue would be a nice addition to the palette along with a rejigging of our titular piece.

Coming soon to Toxic Versailles, we've got alot to post including a preview of the upcoming month of June, with 'tribender' concert weekends, gigs, girls, booze and all the funny things you've come to adore on this space, blogged artists, screenshots of our obersvant lives and the the sometimes caustic commentary or our lovely lust of things.

But for the here 'n' now, I've come across 'Pacific!' - Sweden's best export along with the previously blogged Radio Dept. and their sneaker/clothing stores Caliroots and Sneakers'n'stuff (SNS). I think I would love to spend a day in Stockholm or Malmo for that matter, listening to Pacific! and The Radio Dept's Best Of' while chilling on a lounge with Peter and Erik of SNS, having a confab about sneakers. The very thought...... however at this stage I'm on the other side of the world and that grail will have to wait for a few more years.

(My Seat at SNS)

(Peter & Erik of SNS)

Enjoy the mellowness, as these remixes capture Pacific! perfectly.

Chk Chk Boom.

Chk Chk Boom
A short story by Clare Werbeloff.

My friend Swanny and I came out of the tattoo parlour, and there were these two wogs fighting and the fatter wog said to the skinnier wog, ‘Oi bru, you slept with my cousin ey!?’

And the other one said ‘Nah I didn’t for shit, ey!’ and the other one goes, ‘I will call up my fully sick boys’. “And then they pulled out a gun and went

Chk Chk BOOM!

My future wife? Clare represents the Cross in all it's fucked-up-at-4am glory. Hopefully she is out this weekend.

Here is the obligatory remix version. It was probably made before Channel Nine even got the footage.

An Original Presentation. DJ 579.

As you would have read from my last drool, I was to rock out on the dance-floor this past weekend, to the tunes of an old friend of mine and High School alum, Dave. Although this didn't eventuate due to technical difficulties on the night, I was sent a surprise goody bag of the cyber kind when I opened my email yesterday to find his first 2 works (20minmix and 7minmix) in the box under his developed moniker .579. With enthusiasm and glee I proceeded to rock out in my bedroom  with the unstoppable nodding of my head as his first '20minmix'  permeated the aural senses and left myself wanting more. Alas there was a shorter but albeit, more polished mix of his to come in his '7minmixr' aka 'Fruity Ghosts'.

A self-confessed nutter for tunes, Dave has joined the growing horde of the learned DJ over a number of months as his appreciation for the tame 'dance music' evolved. His first foray has been a solid punt with his setlist selection and transitioning, an apparent editing forte, as each mix of tracks blends rhythmically and embellishes a typically tough and tardy sequence to any accomplished mix. With his first 2 official mixes done, they are a great party compliment with an array of dancefloor killahs.
Stand by as we await his future works.

Please Enjoy - whole heartedly and up really loudly!
DJ 579.

FruityGhosts.7MINMIXR.579. Tracklisting:
Ghost Under Rocks (Passion Pit Mix) - Ra Ra Riot
Ghosts N Stuff - Deadmau5
Fruit Machine (Dave Spoon Vocal Mix) - The Ting Tings
Miami To Atlanta (Original Mix) - Pryda

There's A Party In My Tummy (So Yummy, So Yummy)

Ch-check this out. I'm sure you have already stumbled upon the coolest kids show ever, Yo Gabba Gabba. Despite hearing about it for ages. I've only recently caughtmy first few episodes, and holy shit! During the holidays, my little brother and I would get up at 10AM to watch repeats of it on ABC Kids while we ate our breakfast, and every morning without fail, my feet would start moving while my mind was being blown (I don't mean for that to sound dirty). Whoever commisioned this magic at Nickelodeon is a fucking genius, let alone the guy who came up with it. It's hosted by a guy called DJ Lance Rock (obviously a retired b-boy from way back), along with his action-figure-friends-turned-monsters who live in a boombox, and regularly features bands like Chromeo and The Shins. It's fucking mental. They are here in Aus. at the moment doing their live show, and I think are playing in Sydney at Olympic Park tomorrow (did Bekay tell me today?).

This show is creating a generation of kids that are going to change this world in ways we could once only dream of. In fact, I'm going so far as to even say Yo Gabba Gabba is leading this planet to world peace. Fuck the Wiggles, let's all go breakdance to 'Party In My Tummy'.

Sorry this is the only decent version of this song I could find. Somebody's cut it up with scenes from weirdo sci-fi films, but just ignore them. If a DJ dropped this song in a club, myself and everybody included would absolutely lose their shit.

I wish I had kids just so Biz Markie could teach them how to beatbox. But seriously, is he a little bit retarded?

Wait till you go...

Rocking it up this weekend and week, I've been on the hunt for me n Ollie's latest gig and musical experience.
Found: Deerhunter & Knightlife feat. Cutters record night. Both events back to back, a bender of sorts ensured.
It'll be awesome, this is what we live for these days, and With ollie predisposed to work and its timely hours of preoccupation, The chance to get back to back nights out is far more appealing than sporadic hours of seeing and hanging out. It's always good times to be had.
And while I find myself out this weekend for a mates bday, I will still be rolling on the dance floor hopefully to the tunes of a friend of mine, Dave, who will be presenting his Dj work for the first time. In future I'll get a hardcopy of his work and spread the goodness all over with you guys. In the mean time another fellow High school alum, Jared Gardiner has produced some original works and I have these along with his first demo, that I'll publish in future. Basic tests but strong roots. He's got potential.

But till then, suffice in basking in the glory of a few tracks I have became immersed in since our last gig from the highly jovial Miami Horror.

Dancing To the Sound of Sirens

I want to kill somebody.

I am one of the thousands who missed out on fucking Splendour In the Grass tickets, once again this year. I mean, I know the lineup isn't 'amazing' this year, but for the past 3 years I have been yearning for Splendour. Dreaming of the mud, the freezing cold, shrooms, and magical times. Unfortunately, however every year my desires have been crushed, either by my parents not letting me head to Byron Bay by myself , HSC Trials, or this time, the ticket site's internet servers being too damn slow, and it subsequently selling out in 1 hour and 17 minutes.

I could also just kill a man to see Bloc Party, who are headlining. My plans to see them everytime they have come out to Oz the past few years have been thwarted at every turn. I got incredibly close last year to seeing them in Sydney. In fact, I even had a ticket, passed through the gates, though the Hordern Pavilion courtyard was as far as I reached. My girlfriend at the time decided she couldn't hold her vodka and decided to projectile vomit in the courtyard right before the show had even begun. Cue, security guards surrounding us and forcing us to leave, with no refund, due to the fact we were drunk and underage at the time (well I was allowed to stay, but obviously I couldn't leave her), and my fucking Dad being called to come and pick us up. I have never been so fucking devastated in all my life, as we waited for him, and she bawled her eyes out while I tried to calm her down. I wanted to cry too. Apparently, the gig was fucking awesome.

I still find it difficult to listen to Bloc Party. Obviously then, you could imagine my excitement and wide eyes when I heard Bloc Party were headlining Splendour this year, though with no side shows.

This is my first post in almost three weeks due to my laziness and the fact I have been working and waking up at 3AM for 5Am starts, but I just felt the overwhelming need to rant.

So please, Kele Okereke, you are one of my heroes, and a fucking amazing fella. In the off chance that you type your name into 'Google' or something and come across this blog, could you please somehow help a mate and I get our filthy hands on some Splendour tickets. We will pay for them, yessir. That, or we are considering going on a prayer, heading all the way up to Byron in the blind hope of jumping the fence.

Pop'it.

Harking back to 80's production synth in all its glamour, I've been abundantly  playing artists like La Roux and Miami Horror non-stop. Call it a pedigree for insular and single sided musically focused pandemonium, but right now, these numbers get me jiggling and wiggling along to the beat, the synth and the nightlife. The combusting melodies, the bleep blah of plastic keyboard keys, and in one case, a chick whose' fast tracked their resume of becoming my future wife all have me swooning for fresh beats with little 80's styled baggage. Its experiencing all the ferocity and sensation of successful and timeless 80's customs, today!

La Roux is tres beauty.

Me n Ol's are hittin up the Oxford art factory Saturday night to catch Miami Horror who are supporting the Brazilian duo, The Twelves, who have been a staple in my library export list, ever since I looked up the word 'remix' in webster's dictionary. We'll also be out to celebrate Ollie's recent employment, with times being what they are, its a perfect excuse for more than ample celebratory feats.

Stay tuned for our wrap of all the rolly polly tales and footage early next week.
